Icom are the best. I've had Icom ham radios and I have the IC-MC2 VHF Marine. It was in my PFD mesh pocket during a rough day on lake Erie. I got rolled (along with everybody else) and didn't have to worry about the radio. Easily contacted my paddling partners to get together. We were a couple of miles apart on an island and the clarity was as good as a phone call.
