Re: tried stencil paint?

Thanks all for the suggestions about water-based stains. Since I am under my own little self-imposed deadline to get the kayak done in the next couple weeks I decided to go with what I know -- I traced my stencil with a pen on white paper, scanned it into the computer, spent a couple hours cleaning up the edges pixel by pixel, laser printed it onto rice paper, and slapped it in place just tonight. Maybe for the kayak I am bound to make for the younger daughter after she sees what her sister has I will learn about the water based stains and make a go of it. Thanks again.
