Just an alternative point of view, my DeWalt ROS has seen over 3 years of use and the hooks still look (and work) like new. Maybe the guys with problems try sanding with just the hooks :-).

Definitely buy your discs bulk, it's much cheaper that way and you can get higher quality stuff than what Home Despot and the others sell. I ended up using 150 discs on a CH16LT.
