Hi Mac (from Oregon),

If I had to guess, I'd say boats like the Passagemaker Dinghy, Eastport Pram, and perhaps even the Jimmy Skiff all take some sort of power (vs. rowing or sail)... No doubt that others will weigh in on this

Anyway, you've touched on an issue that I am REALLY curious about... That of driving small craft using these new powerful trolling motors and their deep-cycle batteries on relatively still water... I can see that type of a small boat/motor configuration being absolutely perfect for bird watching, nature photography, picnicking, and especially fishing.
