Re: minimal sanding

I was going to do a minimal sanding job on a boat once, but when I actually started sanding it, it was so much easier than I thought it would be that I just went ahead and sanded it smooth.
A lot of that was the result of the equipment - a good random orbital sander connected to a shop vacuum cleaner, comfortable earplugs and eye protection and high quality sandpaper which I changed very frequently. All of which is suggested in the CLC Shop Tips.
So you don't have to sand it smooth, but settling for some drips & runs may not save you as much labor as you think. Have fun either way.
