Three reasons, I think: 1) The design has less "deadrise" than similar Whitehall-types, so it's pretty stable. 2) The interior encourages the crew to sit on the bottom, where they do the most for stability (short of racing-dinghy-style hiking). And 3) the sprit rig is powerful but has a low center of effort.
