Thanks for clearing that up for everyone here Lee. I used (had to) puzzle joints on the Merganser kit I'm building and on my friends Merganser we cut our own finger joints...see: http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/06/howto/puzzle/index.htm

If you intend to build lots of boats and like the idea, it's a worthwhile investment to build a finger joint jig system to hold the panels while you are routing them, which a friend of mine did. It's a proprietary system so I cannot post any pictures, but I can say that it is far better than a good scarf joint. Once I get his boat varnished I'll send you some pictures so you can post them here or on the Guillemot forum.
