FIberglassing Option?

This week I am working on my first kayak kit (Ches. 17LT). Two Questions: * Is it advantageous/advisable to line the cockpit area with fiberglass? The video mentions it bu the instructions are silent on this. * Should I fiberglass the deck? or is this considered overkill?
