What model are you building, Derik? If it's a Chesapeake model, I'd say you should scarf it. There is still a bit of a deck radius at that point and I don't think a butt joint will allow this flow...you may end up with a noticeable flat spot..plus you should be a far ways back from the end pour so I would not rely on that to provide strength at this point of the deck.
