Posting a picture of this kind of stuff is always helpful if you can. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to thin epoxy. It isn't like varnish or paint. You might try just touching up particularly bad looking spots in order to reduce total sanding. Or look for Kurt's posts and/or website. He uses extensive squeegeeeing. He can fill the entire deck glass with a teaspoon of epoxy or something ridiculous like that. Squeegee action can be very useful in limiting the amount of epoxy applied.
