Jack- Thanks for the response and drag chain warning. I have a drag chain that is specific for this use... it consists of a clip welded onto three very large steel links of chain (6 inches in diameter and 1" thick.... very heavy. I will use it with caution.

Good luck on the other longboat. By the way, when sanding the interior, I came across the stencil words "Grayling lumber and Supply" Of course I will leave them so you can see them.
