Sassafras 12

I've been waiting for a kit sale and now it is hear. Thinking of taking on a winter building project with my son age 7+. I know at that age I'd be doing a lot on my own but wanted to pick something he could help with but also get use out of when completed. We have 2 younger kids as well and I want something good for them as they get old enough. It looks user friendly, light weight, easy to use? Anyone want to talk me out of building that in favor or some other CLC option out there you think is better? We already have a Mill Creek 13.
