River camping
Posted by David Duhon on Sep 24, 2007
My MC 16.5 is done and in the water, and I am now trying to sort what I can do with it. I like the idea of river camping, but there are few rivers that seem to fit, and there always seems to be those class 1 and 2 rapids. So, what should I take a flat bottomed wooden boat in? I can handle a few gashes and their repairs, but how strong is this boat against rocks, and what should I be worried about. I am not a whitewater person. Also, any river suggestions for midatlantic? Have my intents on the Greenbriar in WV and the Lumber in NC. David
