Make a crude undersized stiff bulkhead template and use some wedges to secure it where you want the bulkhead. Set a compass to one inch and scribe an offset line one inch in from the inside of the hull. Remove the template and lay it on your plywood and using the compass transfer the offset line one inch back out onto the plywood. Now cut out your bulkhead and sand the cut smooth to fit. I like to glass and epoxy both sides of the bulkheads to strength them and to waterproof them. Be sure to seal the cut edge with several coats of epoxy until waterproof. A 1/4 inch thickened epoxy fillet on one side is plenty for strength to secure them.
