Strength Test Results

...a little. If I took the VJ (without glass) out on the river and banged her up just a bit, I doubt the wood would last long at all. She'd be a disposable kayak, for me, probably just a single use craft. I've read many threads that refer to the wood as being mostly just a shell for the glass to take the shape of. The wood does offer "some" strength but the bulk of teh strength comes from the glass/epoxy. I'll stand by my comments...mostly.
You are referring to Sam McFadden's testing results posted at the Guillemot site. A search of his name in the Builder's Forum should produce the results.
