I did something pretty similar, except that I didn't use the saran wrap (I had the plastic braces and epoxy doesn't really stick to them). I also sanded the bottom of the studs with #60 paper to roughen them up a bit for better adhesion. Finally, I was able to get by with 1 layer of glass since the stud was bedded in epoxy/woodflour putty. This picture shows only the first layer, the previous post sort of shows an additional layer which was used to make a smooth surface so that the glass would lay smoothly and not have any voids.
