Hatch Cover Test Fit LT17

Hey Guys (And gals too) I just cut out my hatch openings, and having worked ahead and already built the hatch covers I thought I would test fit them. I expected the hatches to fit snugly on the deck, but the hatch frames rub against the side of the openings. The covers sit about 1/2" above the deck. Is this an issue? Will I need to widen the opening or trim the frames? Thanks - - - -
