For Sale: Complete Oxford MK1 rowing shell package

Oxford MK1 with low hours of use (about a dozen sessions).

This package is complete with Oxford hull, Piantedosi drop-in unit and Dreissigacker hatchet oars and is ready to row. There are no issues with this boat.

Description:

*The Piantedosi unit is in excellent condition and is almost new. 

*The Oxford hull is in very good condition, with the minor scratches expected from light use. The hull bottom is painted with Dark Blue Interlux Brightside. The decks and cockpit are finished bright with five coats of Epifanes varnish over epoxy coats. The cockpit has custom mahogany trim that gets noticed and commented on at every dock and parking lot. 

*The oars were bought used but are in good condition, with some minor dings that do not affect performance.

The hull was built by a two-time “Okoumefest Best-in-Show” winner (me) and has always been stored indoors. 

The MK1 has a distinct advantage over the MK2 due to the versatility of the drop-in unit. The unit is easily transferred to other watercraft, such as canoes, wherries, etc., drastically reducing costs and increasing rowing opportunities.

Current costs for a MK2 kit is around $2500, not including oars, paint, varnish, shop supplies and shipping. (and 80-100 hours build time)

Sale price is $1300. (Current price of the Piantedosi unit with leveling legs is $820 plus shipping so the buyer is essentially getting a rowing shell hull and oars for around $400.) The boat will only be sold as a complete set.
