4. Pre-coating Transoms, Frame, and Stringer
The transoms, center frame, and longitudinal stringer should be sanded and pre-finished with coatsof epoxy before hull assembly begins. Ideally you'll apply two thin coats of epoxy, with the final coat sanded all the way to 220-grit, essentially ready for varnish or paint. The hull planking should NOT be pre-coated.
