I have just applied my 3rd (and hopefully final) coat of paint on the hull of my dory. I wetsanded with 400 between each coat. Now that the last coat is on, do I need to wetsand one last time or will that mess up the finish?

That will mess up the finish. If you still feel a need for a smoother finish after it cures for a month or so, buff it out with auto polish. Just remember, this is a boat, not a dining table. -Wes
