Extra fiberglass after build, where should I reinforce?
I will be at the end of my fiberglass cloth and tape by the close of today, but I have small pieces left over.
Does anyone have suggestions on where I should reinforce besides the bow and stern?
I know people will have suggestions based on first time scratches, and that is what I'm looking for...(not first time scratches)..."I wish I had put some extra fiberglass on that part of my boat...**&^#$^%**..."
Thanks,
Chris F

Boats like kayaks and canoes seem to sustain most of their wear along the keel line near the ends. You might add a narrow strip (less than 2" wide should be plenty) in those areas to provide an extra layer of protection. Fair in the edges using microballoons if you have some, and will be painting.

Toss out the extra glass; it will just add weight. If you want abrasion resistance, apply a coat of epoxy mixed 50/50 with graphite powder. -Wes
