So after three seasons of use, I finally got around to refinishing my Chesapeake 16. I put three coats of graphite on the bottom, and am up to coat #3 of epiphanes on deck/hull. Question: how many coats of epiphanes should I need for the refinishing, considering the original finish was 6 coats? I did have some minor sun damage (yellowing) of the deck during the previous two seasons, so I'm thinking the original UV blocking capacity of the varnish is long-gone. Should I call it done at 3, or keep going on re-coating?
