Need to sand smooth wood pre epoxy?
On my last build, everything needed to be glassed.
Working on Chester Yawl where much of the boat just needs protective resin before paint/varnish.
Other than removing building tabs, sanding rough spots on edges, etc., is it necessary to lightly pre-sand smooth wood before applying first coat of epoxy?
Thanks for any advice.

Actually, I've found that it works well to sand it after the first coat, instead, because the epoxy raises the grain somewhat.
