Sometimes, you have to pull the hull out to get the deck assemble to fit -- at least that has happened to me a number of times. And there are times when you have to install a temporary spreader stick. But for those times when you just need to pull it out a little to get the bevel of the hull to mate with the bevel of the deck, an automotive radiator hose pick is just the right tool. I find it very useful. If you are worried about the sharp point, you could grind it down, but it hasn't given me any trouble.
