It doesn't like to take water based stain. I had to repair part of the coaming on a WD12 and used CA glue. The glue made lighter spots, where the stain didn't take. Good Luck, JRC.

Used cyanoacrylate glue on my puzz;e joints as well as stain and it turned out fantastic. I sanded the joints and they took the stain very nicely. I also used Laszlo's tape technique. It worked well. Not as nice a line as his but after a little sanded or alot of sanding in spots it turned out well. The photos are attached:

I've used CA glue with accelerant several times with no problem however the glued areas were always sanded. SEEYA Jack
