Has anyone considered building the team dory as a sailboat with a ketch rig? or is that just me? Do you think it would work, or would it be too narrow to have the stability needed for sailing?
I wonder if the coming Southwester would tick all your boxes? Or are you wanting a rowboat first and foremost? Just going on length and beam, these two boats would have roughly the same stability: but the rowing dory likely has more slack bilges and has less stability as a result of that, so I think you're probably right about it being short on stability for sailing.
