Hello Everyone, long winter -ready to sail!
When I built my Dory I just varnished hull. Last year i discovered many times that I beached the boat and wished I had used graphite. If I sand down hull with 220 grit will the epoxy/graphite " bite" into the hull?

RE: Graphie finish for Dory Hull
Carbon fiber is strong and light but is expensive, has poor abrasion resistance, and is hard to work with. On the other hand, dynel fabric saturated with epoxy is inexpensive, easy to work with, and provides the most abrasion resistance you can get without metal sheathing. Why are we so fixated on high tech solutions?

That should be fine. You might want to fill-in and scratches with epoxy before applying the mixture.
Have you considered adding some carbon fiber tape and then the epoxy and graphite?
