Wood Duck Double forward seat backband calls for support strap not in kit
Page 56 of the Wood Duck Double instructions says that the forward backband will require a support strap stretching across the cockpit with two side release buckles. The support strap and buckles are not part of the seat hardware sent with the kit. Are these parts I need to run out and buy or should they have been part of the kit? We are so close to being finished ...

Good morning, Just looked through your album. Pretty good work for a short amount of time. A few things to help you along. Your kayak will get alot smoother when you sand the whole thing and apply varnish. DId you back fill the holes for the foot braces with epoxy? If not water will be absorbed by the wood and cause black spots. For you future projects, on the coaming turn the bias cut cloth 90 degrees, and use longer strips, less joints for you to sand, and the bias cut cloth will conform to the shape easily. Also on the coaming, your fillets are too big, you are looking for a small fillet in just the corners. Great job on your first kayak. you will have alot of fun. JRC

Cancel that. I just found the strap. It is in the bag of supplies for foam edges on the hatch covers, not the seat parts. Sorry.
