Northeaster Dory question filleting and glassing the Transom
Next Step: Filleting the transom there are stiches below the doubler that will cause the fillet to create a bump. I will have fiberglass on it befor it cures enough to pull the stiches.Any solution or just dont worry about it because it will be under the stearn seat. Also do I need to have fiberglass on the transom below the doubler.
Thanks Larry

Thanks that helps alot, it will be a couple of days before I can have enough time to get it all done at one time. This is a long step I dont want to be crowded for time.
Thanks Larry

You can minimize the amount of intrusion of the stitches by using a flat screwdriver blade to push the stitch closer to the joint. And yes, there will be stitches buried in the fillet that you'll snip flush and sand off on the outside of the boat. Also the fiberglass will be in the entire section on the bottom, number one panels and the transom under the doubler.
Have fun!
