Topping off Fillets on NED that’s sat for years
I just picked up a 2009 kit from a local who realized he's not going to finish it so here I am. He started filling in some of the initial fillets but didn't get them full as the manual recommends. This epoxy has probably been there several years, do I need to do anything before topping it off? There's very little room in the overlaps to sand. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks so much and also for your glassed fillet tips.

If that's like the usual unsanded fillet, it's plenty rough as it is for a final layer of epoxy.
When you do put the final layer on, If it's a glassed fillet, apply the glass immediately, otherwise immediately paint it with a chip brush dipped into unthickened epoxy. That will leave the surface smooth as glass and let you skip sanding (other than a light scuffing for applying varnish).
