Puzzle joints on a Wood Duck 12
I'm a first time builder. After watching Nick Schade's video on connecting the puzzle joints of the Petrel Play, I decided to use the CA glue techneique to glue the puzzle joints of the hull pieces. The manual says to epoxy the joints and then reinforce with a strip of fiber glass and epoxy. Do I need to reinforce the CA glued joints with a fiber glass strip or is it strong enough to hold while wiring the hull pieces together?

Hi John,
you will still need to reinforce the joint with a strip of fibreglass on the back (inside) side.
its probably strong enough, as is, to allow it to be stitched without coming apart, but for the long-term strength of the joint you definetly want glass on both sides. the outside will get glassed when you glass the deck/hull. but the inside needs that strip and its easiest to add it now before assembling the boat.
the CA glue comes in handy in that you were able to easily line it up the hull pieces and hold it all in place with CA in a couple minutes....vs without CA you would not know your final outcome until the epoxy had cured....
hope that helps
