Lighthouse Peapod in Seattle to View?

Hello,

I am considering building the peapod, it sure looks amazing in pictures, but I would really like to see it in person to better understand the size and capacity of the boat. I would also love to chat about the build process as I will be a first time builder. I'm definitely biting off more than I can chew but this seems like a forever boat for my needs.  I would really appreciate it if someone was willing to show their boat to me, I'll bring a six oack of your choice!

Thank you!

Matt

RE: Lighthouse Peapod in Seattle to View?

I don't have a Peapod, but I have a PassageMaker take-apart under construction, mostly getting ready for finishing now, but I'm happy to show you and give you my lessons learned as a first time builder (I did the class at CWB). I'm in the Eastlake neighborhood.  You can send me a message at 20six 22s!x Ninedy3TwentyAte.

Thank you Forbin, look forward to seeing your build. And KWA, appreciate you looking into the builders club, I did not know that was there for searching. The September boat show is a long time to wait but it lines up with my timeline to start building in early 2026. If you can't tell I'm in the obsessive research part right now. Thanks for all the input! Matt

I was in a similar situation with choosing a boat.  I'm building a Southwester Dory which seems to be a much less frequently chosen design than some of the others.  Not a ton of content out there on it, especially sailing videos.  There was enough for me to choose it though, based on the specs and looking at comparable boats.   You could just build the Lighthouse Tender though.  A slightly higher parts count than the simpler boats, but it looks fantastic.

Matt...you might take a look at some helpful info submitted by Laszo on the boat you are considering under the exchange "Comparison of boats" . I have seen the peapod at CLC and it is a lovely and sturdy boat...good luck.  Tomc
