Folks, either CLC or others building the RC Independence....is there a spec weight for the completed boat with all components installed and finished, including the six pound keel bulb? Can't find any reference to completed weight and am just curious where it should be. I don't plan on racing, so speed isn't a priority for me now. Best, Bob H

RE: RC Independence Spec Weight?
Thanks. That's useful info if only because of the various building techniques possible; epoxy, glass, layers, etc. Ya gotta stop somewhere and weight needs definition. I think I've probably overbuilt my Indy because I didn't trust some of my joints. My bow and transom are loaded with peanut butter! Best, Bob H

Bob:
The Indys we have been building have, I believe, been running between 13 and 14 lbs., including a receiver battery, custom sails and keel.
Keels like the one you have finish out at 105 to 110 ounces or 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 lbs.
