West System slow hardener question
For some strange reason, I ran out of MAS hardener before the resin. Since I have very little left to do, and couldn't find Mas hardener locally, I bought a pint of West System 106. Tried it with Mas (2:1) and it cured okay.
Finally my question: the can states: "Not for clear coat." I am assuming they mean there's no UV protection, but I am not sure. Need an epoxy guy(or girl) to advise. I plan to sand/varnish after epoxy cures.
Thanks!
Rich

RE: West System slow hardener question
Thanks Charlie. I already have several coats of Mas resin/hardener on my stripped deck. Do you think using the West Sysrtem hardener will affect the finish (i.e. yellow tint)?

I may be this,
West had an hardener that was designed for wooden hulls like strippers where the the wood was supposed to be seen. It was a bit yellow so they developed a newer product without the yellow cast.
