Rapid pulse back band installation
I will be installing my back band and noticed in the diagram that the side straps go around the hip brace to keep them out of the way. I will not have hip braces, is there another way to keep these straps out of the way?

Same for my 17. My daughter has a 14.5 Shearwater and her's is installed as shown on the plans so the back band is held in place by the bungee and straps. Mine has no bungee so I can pull it up a little farther on a long trip when I'm not trying to lie back for rolling or to rest. I've got three kayaks with this set up and it works well. SEEYA Jack

I attached the side straps to the shear clamp in my Shearwater 17 and this worked fine
