Screw-in plates (also known as inspection ports). They are available in 4" or 6". Perfect for boats with bulkheads but no deck hatches; allows ventilation and access to small items. Handsome marine-grade black or pure white, with molded-in handles so cold hands can open them.
You'll use 4-inch diameter ports for the Skerry and Eastport Pram, and 6-inch diameter ports for the Passagemaker Dinghy, Chester Yawl, Jimmy Skiff, and Oxford Shell.
On the 4-inch plate, the actual opening is 4 inches. You'll need to cut a 4-1/2" diameter hole in the bulkhead or panel. The flange diameter is 5-3/4".
On the 6-inch plate, the actual opening is 6 inches. You'll need to cut a 6-1/2" diameter hole in the bulkhead or panel. The flange diameter is 8-1/8".
Deck plates should be mounted in the boat only AFTER painting and varnishing is complete. Bed the plates in 3M Marine Grade silicone caulk.
