Re: Cockpit Modifications

Thanks for the advice and reassurance to all who responded. I cut the front 'keyhole" of the cockpit wider and reduced the deckbeam to about half of its' original thickness. Now I can enter and exit without scraping my knees and feeling like a contortionist. Now that I'm in, I can see that I'm going to need some type of thigh support. I think I would prefer something that wasn't permenently attached as I like to be able to shift my position sometimes as I paddle. Ideas? Opinions? Forgive me if I seem to ask the simple questions but this is my first foray into sea kayaks. My other 5 boats are all "rec" boats with the exception of a 30+ year old "Folboat" tandem. Thanks David
