The Northwest Maritime Center is excited to partner with Chesapeake Light Craft to offer this unique workshop experience. Talented professional instructors will help you assemble your own kit from start to finish. Since 1994, CLC boatbuilding classes have launched more than a thousand boats and introduced countless people to the joys of boatbuilding.
This workshop will take over the Boatshop for 4 full weeks, giving more time than a normal class setting to have access to the space, tools, and instruction they need to complete their project. Students have the option to sign up for one of two 2-week blocks, or for the entire 4 weeks. This workshop environment allows students to choose a project from Chesapeake Light Craft’s vast catalog of offerings and have the space and professional help to build it. Cost covers tuition only. Ask the Registrar about special shipping options before ordering your kit.
- Choose the CLC boat model you want to build, with the options you want.
- Choose your class week: First two weeks, 2nd two weeks, or the full month.
- Contact NWMC for your class consultation. The school will provide a complete class quote, including the cost of the boat kit and shipping.
- The CLC boat kits are to be purchased through the school (not from CLC).
- CLC discounts do not apply to NWMC or any boat classes.
- Class boats are shipped together to reduce the shipping cost for all students.
- Kit orders must be in place on or before August 30th, 2024.
- Sailing kits, fixed oars, rowing units, and so other options can be shipped with the boats to the school. (Dropshipped and oversized items are excluded).
- We suggest that Trailer kits be shipped to your home for assembly and home state registration before the start of class.
