27-year-old Xyla Foxlin is an engineer and a talented "maker," whose interests range from aviation to...boatbuilding. She's also a wildly popular YouTuber, and she's just released a start-to-finish construction video featuring CLC's Lake Union Swift. She has donated the finished boat to our friends and colleagues at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle.
The Lake Union Swift is a variation on our (somewhat easier-to-build) Tenderly Dinghy. While Tenderly is often found tending a mothership, the Swift has an interior optimized for sail-training, with bench seats and a tall sloop rig with a bowsprit. The latter feature also appeals to experienced sailing geeks who dig small boats with big performance.
