Wood duck deck
Posted by laurie on Mar 8, 2008
I finished tack-welding the deck. At this point, the manual says to clip the wires and remove the forms before applying fillets and fiberglass tape.
As I began to remove the forms(especially the rounded one forward of the cockpit), I noticed that the deck began to spring back to it's flatter shape. I stopped and put the wires back in.
Should I remove the forms anyway? I'm concerned that the deck will become distorted and will no longer fit the hull.
Or should I leave the forms in - being careful not to fillet them in place - and remove them after the filets and tape have cured?
Thanks!
