Flat across the top? Are you absolutely sure that you're looking at a bulkhead and not one of the hull forms.... or that your kit wasn't accidently shipped with the wrong part? Double check the parts you've got against the parts diagram... and if you're missing the 7 sided bulkhead shaped piece, give John & co. at CLC a call (or a direct email) and they'll fix you right up with the right piece.
