A recent sail in my skerry got me thinking about a small modification to the interior. I am well in to my dotage and tacking requires the kind of scramble to reposition myself neither easy nor smooth. Nor frankly, have I ever liked sitting directly in the bottom of a boat. Would it be possible, therefore, to affix shallow bench seats running fore and aft, and, aft of the center board trunk. ?.....I think this model boat might easily accomodate this small change (improvement ? ) and could be done without a great deal of effort or prohibitive cost.....could the boat take it structurally, I do not know....any thoughts on this will be appreciated...thanks, Tomc

RE: skerry seats
M ruud. thank you for the excellent tutorial on making this smalll modification to the skerry. Tho my French language skills never got beyond "....la plume de ma tante..." i think the fotos by themselves are sufficient to guide me thru this worthwhile project. However, several attempted rereadings of the text have not led me to the understanding of what material was used in construction of the benches .... is it some sort of plastic or fibreglass. ?.....it does appear so in your fotos. In any case, thank you again.... perhaps CLC might consider this add-on in future skerry kits.....Tomc
