VArnishing interior,rub rails,and top panel on the outside of the hull. Can't decide between dark blue and sea green so I'm taking a poll.also having a hard time finding good pictures of the painted hulls, with the boats upright or on the water the hull is in shadow and its difficult to really see exactly what the color is like

Painted mine light blue, except gunwales, thwarts and stern that are oiled/varnished. Looks salty enough, if you ask me - but that's perhaps no surprise to anyone... ;-)

I have always loved the dark blue of th Hinckly boats however, as I build my NE Dory and think about painting the hull I am having second thoughts about blue. The more pictures of lapstrake boats I see the more I am inclined towards a light color hull as it shows off the lapstrake much more prominently. Post some pictures of your finished project, if you can.
