Puzzle joints vs scarf in kuts
How do we determine if a kit has puzzle joints or scarfs? I'm particularly interested in the Chesapeake 16, but would like to make the same determination for any kit. Thanks.

The only CLC kits still in circulation with scarf joints are, I believe, the Nutshell Pram and Shellback Dinghies that we cut for WoodenBoat Magazine.

I believe that CLC now uses puzzle joints instead of scarfs in all kits. I can tell you for certain that the CH16Lt, CH17Lt, PP and Shearwater Double all definately had puzzle joints. If you have any doubts, call CLC.
