Can anyone point me in the direction of a web-page or book on how to build a slipway for small boats? It is to be used for an Expedition Wherry, a 70 year old oak jollyboat and hopefully in the not too distant future, a Tenderly Dinghy. It will run from the boatshed doors out over the mud-flat and grass to the river's edge which sees a tidal rise and fall of about 6 feet. I am not sure what distance it will have to span until I get down there again with a tape but it is no less than twenty feet for sure. I am hoping to make something that will be retractable with a small winch or come-along so that I can store it in the off season. I will have to submit a design for a permit as well. Any suggestions appreciated.
