Scarf joint - router or planer jig ideas?
Hi all,
Just about to start on my next build, and the first one in quite a few years. Starting with a Chesapeake Double at the request of my wife, and a few more planned.
Last time around, I remember reading about or seeing simple jigs that builders had made to mount a router or electric planer at an angle, to easily and accurately cut scarfs in 4mm ply.
I did it by hand last time, and while that works, I'd like to set up a jig for precise angled cuts.
I've done a search here and on the Shop Tips but couldn't find anything.
If anyone has any diagrams, links, etc to jigs (planer or router) it would be appreciated.
Thanks, Darren

Google "scarf joint router rigs" for more results than you can shake a router at. One result, Not Another Scarf Joint Jig! from Duckworks magazine is an artcle with even more rigs.
