Hello CLC Forum,
Im building a tandem wherry in Fort Collins, CO and have a question on a bow detail. There seems to be two ways (at least) to bring the lower panels up around the bottom pannel as you form the bow and I need advice on how to proceed. First one: with the squared end of the bottom piece pinched between the lower pannels leaving a small gap near the bottom of the seam formed by the lower panels as they shape the bow. this is not removed by tightening the wire stitching (shown in the first two pics) The second option seems to be to push the tip off the bottom pannel below the lower pannels, allowing a tight seam at the lower panels but leaving that squared bottom pannel tip sticking out (lower pictures.) Not clear in the big book o' instructions what is required here, thoughts? Thanks

Canyonman, either is fine. You'll just need to fill in the gap with a "penut butter"consistency tack weld. Once it cures you can shape it by sanding or filing. Whichever configuration holds the weld better w less epoxie sag is what I would do. The flush mount looks like it would need a longer bead, the protruding one you can bead the inside and then shave off that protruding bit. Some of the joints can be an art more than a science.
