PT-11s at the 2025 Wooden Boat Festival
John Harris reports from Port Townsend, Washington, that the WoodenBoat Festival was crawling with PT 11 nesting dinghies. Seemed like there was one in the water or ashore everywhere he looked. This is logical enough, as the "PT" in PT 11 stands for "Port Townsend," and designers Russell and Ashlyn Brown live in Port Townsend.

The owner of "Bean," this PT 11, demonstrated how the dinghy can be assembled and disassembled on the water. Even with the mast in place!

Love the hull color on this PT 11.

PT 11's hard at work on a cobble beach.
These slick, high-performance 11-foot dinghies are the coolest nesting dinghies—anywhere. They row fast, sail fast, are quick to build, and "nest" better than any dinghy we've ever seen.
Lots more about the Pt 11 here, and about her non-nesting sister, the PT Spear, here.

A couple of sailing shots, also from the Port Townsend waterfront, with John Harris at the helm of the nearest PT 11. From this angle there's no visible difference, but that's a PT Spear to windward of John. The PT Spear is the non-nesting version of the PT 11.
