MESSY end-pour

I just made a mess of the bow end-pour on my LT17. It seems my dam wasn't taped well enough. What's the secret for getting one's hands deep enough into such a tiny space to do a good job at this? Now I'll have some mess to clean-up but for next time, I'd love to know how to do a better job. Thanks - - -
