repairs of 96 build
Posted by Jon on Feb 26, 2008
I have a cape charles 15 that I built about ten years ago it's been all over and beat to hell for the most part it has stood up well. Finally though it needs some major repair i had previously patched wear spots on the bottom these repairs only lasted about a year and the boat has developed roting spots so I have decided to fix it right this time. I started pealing off the fiberglass from the bottem and was going to take off the gunnels and reglass the entire hull. The bottem was easy work with a chissel I was able to peal off big chunks of glass whats left is being difficult. Finally my question is: Does anyone know if there is some trick that could help me remove all of the old ugly fiberglass from the rest of the hull so that I can start fresh?
